Kim and Kim Shapes User Study

This study is meant to collect single-stroke sketched samples of various shapes as used in the user study in "A curvature estimation for pen input segmentation in sketch-based modeling" by Kim and Kim, as well as a couple further shapes found in "Sketch Based Interfaces: Early Processing for Sketch Understanding" by Sezgin. In this study,
  • The shape to be drawn is not specified by words, but only by a sample image.
  • Every sample drawing should be drawn in one stroke (i.e. without lifting the pen from the screen during drawing), and the program will not let you draw more than one stroke between saving (which will move you on to the next item to draw).
  • The red dot in the image indicates what should be the first endpoint of the shape.
  • If you accidentally raise the pen before you are finished, or you draw the wrong thing, you may press the Clear button and start over for that drawing.
Once the applet loads, simply enter in the requested information and perform the study. If strokes do not appear when sketching, press the "Clear" button. After drawing the requested shape, simply press the "Save" button.
You will be asked to draw 4 samples of each of 23 various shapes.
When done, you may close this window. Please do not close it until you have completed the study. Thank you for your participation!
